The Role
As the Head of The Tender & Estimation Department you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. You will analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine the costs involved, and work closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure estimates are comprehensive and realistic.
The successful candidates will be provided with on-the-job training from the current department head.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare the Tender Strategic Plan in coordination with the management
- Study the Tender documents, gain a deep understanding of the project requirements and prepare the Tender Plan
- Estimate and build up the cost for all project activities.
- Analyse and evaluate tender offers
- Visit sites and other venues necessary to do understand site environment
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with the key suppliers and subcontractors
- Maintain regular communication with client representatives and manage clarifications
- Create and present reports to upper management
- Report to managing director
Profile and Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar relevant field
- Previous working experience in construction as site engineer for 10-15 years
- Ability to determine the workforce required for each construction activity
- Good understanding of data analysis
- Good time-management skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Critical-thinker and problem-solver
